I have always been interested in construction and design, from Lego an early age, to my late teenage years spent designing and making skateboard ramps. I graduated from Glasgow College of Build and Print and with the support from the Princes Youth Trust I was able to start at buy Design on leaving college. Now in my fourth year here at Ancrum I have had the good fortune to work on some very prestigious projects including St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow, not to mention some fabulous private commissions.

My approach to making combines an appreciation of traditional skills and respect for materials with a more contemporary design attitude. Taking my inspiration from natural forms and materials other than wood I hope to create furniture which challenges the conventional perception of furniture.
