The oak cladding was all sourced from
Buccleuch Estates for this job to give a beautiful rain screen
skin to this modern eco build. The architect knew us from
old, and his joinery contractor had worked with us before
as well. They introduced the clients who were keen to use
local timber resulting in a fantastic house.
CityCoop, Hidden Gardens, Tramway Theatre,
Glasgow -
A very quite structure within a quiet
space in the middle of Glasgow. Sympathetic use of green oak
works really well in this very cool shelter. You can never
get a clean photograph of this building there is always someone
sitting there!
Border Pathways, Scottish Borders Tourist
Board, Scottish Borders -
The oak for this work was sourced, sawn
and delivered inside two weeks. Construction was through a
small group of volunteers.
John Laidlaw & Sons, Restoration Builders,
Philliphaugh Watermill, Selkirk -
Quality craftsmanship and traditional
build is alive a well in the borders. This unusual build is
a great example of how we work closely with our local builders
in achieving a sympathetic use of materials. |
